Description

vitalpointz IoT Core Lite provides all the necessary tools and processes required to securely on-board IoT devices, manage them, receive and send messages, process the messages in a hosted nodeRED tool, and transfer out the messages to any external service. All of these tools are built with a microservice architecture pattern and presented as a easy-to-use web application you can self-host to get started.

Getting started after deploying vitalpointz IoT Core Lite

** In order to operate properly, you'll need to deploy vitalpointz IoT Core Lite with 4GB of RAM or more **

Getting Started Post Deployment

  • Log in via SSH to start the setup procedure, and you will be presented a custom shell

  • The shell provides the prompt 'vesp>'. You cannot use a full 'bash' shell

  • Press '?' to see the menu of available 'vesp>' commands

  • Type 'Install' and follow the interactive installation processNOTE: You will be prompted to provide your organization name and email-ID during installation process. Once completed, your Droplet will be registered with a DNA A record in the vitalpointz.com domain, and this will be supplied to you in the SSH terminal along with login credentials. As long as your Droplet is running, you'll be able to access vitalpointz IoT Core Lite this way.Additional Documentation and Resources

API Creation

In addition to creating a Droplet from the vitalpointz IoT Core Lite 1-Click App via the control panel, you can also use the DigitalOcean API.

As an example, to create a 4GB vitalpointz IoT Core Lite Droplet in the SFO2 region, you can use the following curl command. You’ll need to either save your API access token to an environment variable or substitute it into the command below.
